PROJECT SCOPE
Responsive Web Design
Keweya
ROLE
Product Research, UX/UI Design, Information Architecture
PROJECT DURATION
1 Year
Keweya is an online learning platform designed to help users explore different career paths through immersive educational content.
Learners can access profession-based courses, watch interactive videos, and complete quizzes, while educators can create courses, manage learning materials, and track student performance through a dedicated administration platform.

THE PROBLEM
People exploring new career paths often rely on articles, videos, or brief introductions that provide limited insight into the realities of a profession. As a result, it can be difficult to understand the day-to-day responsibilities and expectations of different roles before making education or career decisions.
Keweya was designed to provide immersive career exploration experiences through interactive learning content, while giving educators and industry partners the tools to create, manage, and evaluate learning activities.

HOW DOES THE PLATFORM WORK?
KEY CONSIDERATIONS
The platform was designed around the needs of both learners and educators:
-
Users should be able to explore professions through realistic and engaging experiences
-
Learning content should be structured to guide users through each career journey
-
Educators need simple tools to create courses, upload materials, and design assessments
-
Student progress, quiz results, and submissions should be easy to review and manage
GROUP #1: PRIMARY USERS
Individuals exploring new career paths, including students preparing to enter the workforce and professionals considering a career transition.
GROUP #2: SECONDARY USERS
Educators, trainers, and industry partners who create learning content, design assessments, and monitor learner progress through the administration platform.
INSIGHTS #1:
Career exploration is most effective when users can experience realistic work scenarios rather than passively consuming information.
INSIGHTS #2:
Learning content requires structure and guidance to keep users engaged throughout the experience.
INSIGHTS #3:
Educators need flexible tools to create and manage learning experiences without relying on technical expertise.
WHY THIS STRUCTURE
#1:
Learners and educators have fundamentally different goals and workflows.
#2:
Learners focus on exploring careers and completing learning activities, while educators focus on creating content and evaluating progress.
#3:
The platform was divided into dedicated learner and educator experiences to support both workflows more effectively.

TARGET USERS
The platform served two distinct user groups: learners exploring potential career paths and educators responsible for creating and managing learning experiences.
Learners needed engaging and structured content to better understand different professions, while educators required flexible tools to create courses, manage assessments, and monitor student progress.

IDEATIONS
The solution explored how immersive career-learning experiences could be paired with a flexible content management system, allowing learners to engage with structured educational content while giving educators the tools to create, manage, and evaluate learning activities.
HOW MIGHT WE...
#1:
Make career exploration more immersive and engaging than traditional career guidance materials?
#2:
Structure learning content to guide users through a complete career-learning journey?
#3:
Enable educators to create and manage learning experiences without technical complexity?
KEY FUNCTIONS
The platform enables learners to explore different career paths through structured learning experiences, combining immersive video content, quizzes, and assignments to simulate real-world work environments.
For educators, the administration platform provides tools to create courses, upload learning materials, design assessments, and monitor student progress within a centralized content management system.

Career Discovery
Allow users to browse different professions and select career-learning experiences based on their interests.

Structured Learning Journey
Guide users through immersive career-learning content using videos, quizzes, and assignments.

Content Creation & Management
Enable educators to create courses, organize learning materials, and design assessments through a centralized administration platform.

Progress Tracking
Provide educators with visibility into learner performance, quiz results, and assignment submissions.
NICE TO HAVE
While not included in the final design scope, these ideas could further improve career discovery and help learners make more informed career decisions.
Career Comparison:
Allow users to compare different professions side by side, helping them evaluate potential career paths more effectively.
Learning Recommendations:
Suggest relevant career-learning paths based on completed courses and user interests.
TAKEAWAYS
This project taught me that successful learning platforms need to balance the needs of different user groups within a shared ecosystem.
While learners require engaging and structured experiences to stay motivated, educators need efficient tools to create content and monitor progress. Designing both sides of the platform reinforced the importance of aligning system architecture with distinct user goals and workflows.
OUTCOME
The final solution established a complete career-learning platform that supports both learner engagement and educator content management.
By combining immersive learning experiences with a dedicated administration system, the platform provided a structured way for users to explore professions while enabling educators to create and manage educational content efficiently.
